Family Systems Symposium

This symposium will introduce the history and core constructs of Bowen Family Systems theory with a view towards its application in pastoral work with families, secular institutions, and ecclesial organizations. The theory will be presented through lectures, film clips, discussion of the works of Edwin Friedman and Peter Steinke, and relevant case studies.
The theory will be presented from multiple perspectives which include its usefulness for leadership training; conflict resolution and management, pastoral care and counseling; clergy self-care; and personal growth through family of origin work. Whether you are new to this theory or well acquainted with it you are sure to learn something new.
