The Nashotah House Annual Fund

Since 1842, the Nashotah House Annual Fund has been making it possible for Nashotah House to fulfill the mission of training men and women for parish ministry. Hundreds of loyal Nashotah House alumni and friends contribute to the Annual Fund each year, helping meet the Seminary’s need for flexible, unrestricted income to support the academic programs. As unrestricted gifts, these contributions are used by Nashotah House on a daily basis where the needs and opportunities are greatest.

Last year, annual fund donors provided over $400,000 in support the helped the Seminary:

  • Attract and retain world – class faculty
  • Develop new academic programs such as Epiphany and June Terms
  • Renovate the classrooms
  • Maintain the campus housing
  • Renew subscriptions to scholarly journals and procure the books necessary to keep the library up to date
  • Install Internet connections for our students

With the shortage of clergy in today's Church, we believe that the best investment a person can make in the future of the Church is to help to provide faithful clergy for Church leadership. We encourage you to make support for Nashotah House a matter of prayer, and then to let us hear from you. For more information, please contact Mt. Tim Kasza at 262-646-6516 or e-mail:

Include Nashotah House in Your Will

A gift to Nashotah House in your will proclaims your intention that the House will continue to pursue its mission and make a difference for future generations. A bequest is easy to arrange, does not affect your assets or cash flow during your lifetime, and is revocable. Bequests are the means of insuring intergenerational financial stability for the seminary.

Mrs. Alice Sabine Magee never saw Nashotah House, but as a child she saved her pennies for the Mission. Each year her contribution was sent in a plain white envelope with a card simply marked with the words of Isaiah 30:15,” In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”

After her death, Mrs. Magee’s will designated a considerable sum of money to be given to Nashotah House. Only then did her son reveal the name of this generous benefactor. In 1893, the funds from Mrs. Magee’s bequest were used to build the Cloister, the centerpiece of the Nashotah House campus, which today houses single students, faculty and staff offices, and the sacristy. The St. Luke lounge, on the ground floor of the central tower is used for classes, meetings, and receptions. A bust of Mrs. Magee is prominently displayed in the Lewis Hall reception area.

I mention Mrs. Magee to honor her memory as a faithful supporter of the House but also to illustrate the importance of remembering Nashotah House in your will. Through the years, bequests have had a major impact on Nashotah House finances in many ways, including getting the Seminary through some tough financial times. Of all the ways to remember Nashotah House in your estate planning, a bequest is probably the easiest and cheapest.

A gift in your will is a commitment to the continuing mission of Nashotah House. Arranging a bequest to Nashotah House can be as simple as instructing your attorney to prepare a simple codicil to your existing will. Bequests restricted for a specific purpose are appropriate and welcomed; however, our preference would be that the gift be unrestricted, allowing maximum flexibility for the use of the funds.

A bequest can designate a specific dollar amount or a percentage of the balance remaining in the estate after taxes and specific bequests have been paid. Your bequest will reduce the taxable value of your estate for federal estate tax purposes and is exempt from state inheritance taxes. Suggested text for a bequest: “I bequeath ___% of the residue of my estate to Nashotah House, a non-profit corporation located at 2777 Mission Road, Nashotah, Wisconsin, 53058…” or “I bequeath $________ to Nashotah House, a non-profit corporation located at 2777 Mission Road, Nashotah, Wisconsin, 53058.”

Please consider including Nashotah House in your will. For more information please contact Mr. Tim Kasza at 262-646-6512 or or e-mail:
