SPIRITUAL FORMATION AT NASHOTAH HOUSE
Even more important to the Church and her people than well-educated leaders are well-formed leaders, stable in character and mature in faith. Even more important to the Church and her people than orthodox priests are holy priests. Even more faithful than a converted priest is a priest whose conversion is continuing and deepening. Nashotah House is the seminary where the future leaders of the Church are challenged to sanctity, and equipped with the disciplines which yield lifelong growth—our being changed into the likeness of Christ, as St. Paul says, from one degree of glory to another (2 Cor 3:18).
Nashotah House provides her students with something more than an excellent theological education in the classical tradition—because in the classical tradition, theology is something more than a discourse or a collection of doctrines about God. It is the discipline of knowing God and loving him, and that explains our life together at the House. Our regiment of daily worship, our commitment to service, and the total integration of our lives as members of a residential community—these, hand-in-hand with our academic studies, form our souls in relationship to God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
