The Rev. Mark Tusken, DMin

Fr. Mark Tusken is a cradle Anglican. His studies at Vanderbilt (’78) prepared him for entering Trinity School for Ministry, where he graduated with an MDiv (’81).  Ordained in 1981, he served as Curate at St. Mark’s in Casper, Wyoming (81-83) and Assistant Rector at St. John’s in Huntindon Valley, PA. In 1986 he became the Rector of Christ the Redeemer, Montgomery, Alabama. He served on the Diocesan Secretariat for Cursillo, Comission on Ministry, and was a Diocesan Stewardship Consultant. In 1994, he was called as Rector of St. Mark’s in Geneva, Illinois.  During his tenure there, St. Mark’s grew to have the highest attendance for the denomination in the Upper Midwest. He served on the Diocese of Chicago Bishop and Trustees, saw 26 persons enter Holy Orders from St. Mark’s, and oversaw three successful capital campaigns. Fr. Tusken’s DMin (GTF ’99) considered St. Chrysostom’s offering spiritual direction from the pulpit during a time of crisis in Antioch. Tusken has two grown sons, two grandchildren and is married to Peggy.  Fun in his life comes from an old farmhouse in Galena, Illinois, and “Peggy’s Pool” in Geneva.
