Dr. Matthew Lynch holds MATS and ThM degrees from Regent College and a PhD from Emory University. He also carried out postdoctoral research at the University of Göttingen, Germany. Dr. Lynch then worked as Academic Dean and Lecturer in Old Testament at Westminster Theological Centre in the United Kingdom (2013–2020). He joined the Regent College faculty in summer 2020 and was promoted to Associate Professor of Old Testament in 2022.

Dr. Lynch is the author of Flood and Fury: Old Testament Violence and the Shalom of God (IVP Academic, 2023), First Isaiah and the Disappearance of the Gods (Eisenbrauns, 2021), Portraying Violence in the Hebrew Bible: A Literary and Cultural Study (Cambridge University Press, 2020), and Monotheism and Institutions in the Book of Chronicles: Temple, Priesthood, and Kingship in Post-Exilic Perspective (Mohr Siebeck, 2014). He is also a founder and co-host of the OnScript podcast. He is married with two children.
