Bethesda Episcopal Church, Saratoga Springs, NY

Position:

Full-time Rector

Job Description:

Bethesda Episcopal Church, Saratoga Springs, NY seeks a full-time rector who will lead our inclusive parish in the next phase of our spiritual growth as individuals and as a faith community. As an open congregation that worships in the Anglo-Catholic manner with a strong music tradition, Bethesda Episcopal Church stands in communion with The Episcopal Church.  We seek a new rector with dynamic preaching, teaching, and pastoral care skills, an ability to navigate our parish’s differences with the Diocese of Albany, and a strong commitment to growing our parish by attracting young adults and children to worship with us as we proceed “Toward a 3rd Century.”  We have a brand-new Rectory and are in the process of building a new parish house and community center that will serve specific needs in our community, including housing and helping the homeless.  In addition, we continue our historic mission of serving the elderly.

Organized in 1830, Bethesda is located in the heart of Saratoga Springs, NY, a thriving small city.  With a population of about 28,000, Saratoga Springs is located 30 miles north of Albany, NY, and is centrally located between Boston, New York City, and Montreal, Canada.  New York’s capital region is lively and energetic, balancing its historic roots with a vibrant metropolitan atmosphere. Part of the attraction of Saratoga Springs is its ability to offer residents and visitors alike world-class cultural opportunities in a community nestled in the foothills of the Adirondack mountains with superb outdoor recreational opportunities. Applications accepted until 11/15/18. OTM portfolio available at https://www.episcopalchurch.org/transition-ministry .
